RESIDENCE WITH ATTIC IN PAIANIA
The residence is situated on the eastern portion of an elongated plot, located in a semi-rural, hilly area, with the long sides of the plot aligned along the East-West axis. The natural slope of the terrain offers an unobstructed view of Mount Hymettus.
The surrounding landscape, particularly the prominent rocky features of the mountain, serves as the primary influence in the design process.
The building is organized across four levels: basement, ground floor, first floor, and attic, while ensuring minimal interaction with the plot's boundaries to maximize available views. The ground floor is aligned along the East-West axis, establishing a harmonious connection between the building’s base and the surrounding terrain. In contrast, the upper volume is oriented along the North-South axis, optimizing exposure to the sun’s path and prevailing winds. This strategic arrangement of volumes enhances solar energy efficiency and supports bioclimatic principles.
